Moving Time

10 years?

10 years ago I started this blog.

Where did the time go?

I had the ambition of a younger man. Visions of posting regularly, reaching many people, maybe even building a community. None of that happened, which is perfectly alright. The blog has been a useful place to organize and direct my intentions around fatherhood. Nothing more, nothing less. And as an older man now, I am more than satisfied with having a little corner to primarily share with the girls. Some shards of legacy that may or may not be read by anyone else. Or even them, quite frankly.

If my putting this out in the world has provided a scintilla of value or amusement to anyone else, that’s energy well spent.

I’d like to continue doing this, but not here on this website. The website itself takes some maintenance. And in the immortal words of a surprisingly sticky internet meme, nobody got time for that. So I’m moving.

I’m creating a new substack: thedadvisor.substack.com

I’m going to recycle some content from this site over there, as well as sprinkle some new ones on top. Once all this content is over there, I’ll retire the site.

To make things easier, I’m going to take the current subscription list – as it is – and import it into Substack. I beg your forgiveness if you’re not okay with this – Substack should allow you to easily unsubscribe, and you can always drop me a line directly to remove yourself. Honestly there’s no obligation.

To make things interesting, Substack has a referral system. I’ll pay in hugs. (I give some decent ones.) And if you refer 300 (real) people… well, I’ll let you name our next dog.* (Pending family approval)

Thank you for those who have made it a point to encourage me on this particular journey. By sharing, or commenting, or simply even saying “I read it”.
